Biography:

Research and Expertise: My work integrates research, clinical service, and teaching in Radiation Oncology, with current focus on developing smart biomaterials (Tiny drones to Target cancer) designed to boost local and metastatic tumor cell kill with minimal collateral damage or side effects. I lead a cross-disciplinary research group at the interface of radiotherapy, immunotherapy and nanotechnology with a dedicated commitment to develop cures for cancer, and prevent cancer recurrence. The drone technology being developed is adaptable in targeting other diseases. I am also Director of Global Health Catalyst: a transformative initiative for catalyzing high impact international collaborations to eliminate global health disparities in cancer and related diseases. Some of this work is helping shape the emerging field of global radiation oncology.
