Dr. Nikos Soukos is an accomplished inventor, translational medical scientist, academic teacher and a pioneering leader in the field of Photomedicine and Dentistry. He was the Founding Director of the Applied Molecular Photomedicine Laboratory at the Harvard affiliated Forsyth Institute from 2002 to 2015. Since 2015 Dr. Soukos has been a Teaching Professor in the Department of Physics & Biology at Northeastern University. He is the Founder and CEO of Photomedics Inc., a Bostonian science-based startup company that develops minimally invasive light technologies for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases.

Dr. Soukos holds degrees from the University of Athens (DDS), the University of London (MSc in Experimental Oral Pathology), and the University of Munich (PhD in Oral Biology). He has carried out his postdoctoral training in Photomedicine in London (Eastman Institute) and Boston (Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital). He was faculty member at Harvard Medical School for 15 years and has taught at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
